Self Care Sundays: Give Yourself The Gift Of Yoga
It is easy for us to make excuses and come up with reasons why we can’t make time for ourselves. I’ve talked about how I've let life get away from me at times and as a result let my hectic schedule interfere with necessary practices of self love. I know this to be a problem that most of us struggle with due to our hectic lives and overflowing schedules. Recently, I posted about a challenge I proposed to myself as well as all of you to cultivate a more regular yoga practice.
Consider This Amino Acid Before Using Probiotics
Ugh I’ve done it again! Over the last two months my stomach has become increasingly hostile. It all started with severe bloating after meals, which I’m pretty sure came from gluten contamination dinning out one evening. I knew something was totally out of wack with my system, but I decided to ride it out and see how my system would recover on its own. Hmm ….well I should know better then that by now, but I’m kind of hard headed at times.
Road Trippin' Part I
Road Trippin! It can be fun, it can be boring, it can be breathtaking, it can be LOOOONNGG. I have made my way back and forth across the country and experienced all of the above. Yet I still jump into the car at any opportunity for some cross country adventures. The first time I drove across country from California to PA and took a slow southern route visiting friends and family along the way. It gave me a taste for the west coast and shortly after I ended up moving there! Meaning I had to get in the car again this time from PA to CA and we took the most direct route straight across the county... not so fun that time around.
Self Care Sundays: Write
Happy Sunday! Welcome to our new feature #SelfCareSundays where we will spotlight a ritual, product or tip to add to your self care routine. In my personal experience the older I get the more in tune with myself I've become. Recognizing who I truly am and nurturing that soul has become something to prioritize, making sure I "water" and nourish myself for my own personal growth. In this particular new year I have been more aware of taking care of myself and making sure I set aside time or do things throughout the day that bring me joy and are good for my soul.
Crystal Energy
I have been fortunate enough to grow up being exposed to these mystical elements from the earth and have always been fascinated by them. The more I incorporate them into my yoga and meditation practices the more I believe in the energy they produce. One of my favorite videos is of the crystal kid who creates a crystal GRID based off of "where the crystals tell him to place them" and to charge up the crystals. It's #GOALS.
Art Of Attention Yoga Challenge
There was a point in time when yoga was my life. My whole day was planned around my practice and making myself available to study with the teachers whom I admired. This is no exaggeration. I basically moved to New York in order to regularly practice with two specific teachers, Elena Brower and Zhenja La Rosa. I got a job with Lululemon only because the company paid for me to go to yoga class, sent me to class as my actual job, and helped me grow a killer wardrobe to practice yoga in. On my days off I would spend my entire day at Vira Yoga (R.I.P) taking back to back classes.
