Self Care Sundays: Write
Happy Sunday! Welcome to our new feature #SelfCareSundays where we will spotlight a ritual, product or tip to add to your self care routine. In my personal experience the older I get the more in tune with myself I've become. Recognizing who I truly am and nurturing that soul has become something to prioritize, making sure I "water" and nourish myself for my own personal growth. In this particular new year I have been more aware of taking care of myself and making sure I set aside time or do things throughout the day that bring me joy and are good for my soul.
Want a killer workout that keeps you cool and crushes calories ......
Let me just preface this post by stating I am not a swimmer. Yes, I swim but I don’t consider myself a swimmer. I consider the water warriors in the far left lanes gracefully crushing a 100 meter fly (swimmer slang for butterfly, aka. One of the hardest strokes) the real swimmers. I’m still trying to maneuver a flip turn. Am I working my way towards potentially considering myself in that category, yes. It has been a little over 5 years since I first learned how to properly swim. Let me paint the picture for you of how it all began……
Crystal Energy
I have been fortunate enough to grow up being exposed to these mystical elements from the earth and have always been fascinated by them. The more I incorporate them into my yoga and meditation practices the more I believe in the energy they produce. One of my favorite videos is of the crystal kid who creates a crystal GRID based off of "where the crystals tell him to place them" and to charge up the crystals. It's #GOALS.
Art Of Attention Yoga Challenge
There was a point in time when yoga was my life. My whole day was planned around my practice and making myself available to study with the teachers whom I admired. This is no exaggeration. I basically moved to New York in order to regularly practice with two specific teachers, Elena Brower and Zhenja La Rosa. I got a job with Lululemon only because the company paid for me to go to yoga class, sent me to class as my actual job, and helped me grow a killer wardrobe to practice yoga in. On my days off I would spend my entire day at Vira Yoga (R.I.P) taking back to back classes.
Keeping your Beauty Routine aligned with your Health
Growing up I didn't have any older sisters, but had a few girls in my life like Gigi who I looked up to, but didn't get to stalk them on a daily basis like you would with a sister so i was pretty much on my own with discovering beauty and skincare products.
Live Intrepid: A year in Review
A little over a year ago in the Fall of 2015 Gigi and I first had the idea to collaborate on a blog together and last July we launched IntrepidHearts.com. We did a lot of brainstorming to come up with the name of our brand and finally landed on Intrepid Hearts. While we have a lot of differences (mainly our height) we share a lot of similar traits, interests and sense of style (we keep buying the same items from our favorite brands with or without knowing the other purchased it as well) Where we really align is our fearlessness and adventurous spirits that keep us exploring deeper within ourselves.
